About the Item

An authentic, ancient Greek silver "hemidrachm" coin from the Greek region of Thessaly showing the forepart of a horse is set in an ancient-inspired Steven Battelle designed setting with radiating "triple jawan" stacked granulation surrounding. This coin was minted between 480-420 BC in the city of Trikka, famous during those times for the strength of its horses used in the Thessalian calvary. It was said that Alexander the Great's horse, Bukephalos, came from the grassy plains of this region. The opposite side of the coin depicts depicts a youth wrestling a bull. This pendant comes with a laminated coin certificate of authenticity. The handmade 18K hammered chain shown is not included but can be ordered additionally. We discount our chains 20% when ordered with pendant. Ancient Greek Horse!
