Edwardian green enameled four-leaves Clover convertible brooch. An extremely beautiful piece, created in America during the Edwardian and the Art Nouveau periods, back in the 1900-1910. This outstanding multi purpose pendant-brooch has been carefully crafted in the shape of a four-leaves lucky clover in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The clover's leaves are embellished with engine turned guilloche topped with applications of glossy hot enamel, with greens colors gradations. The enamel work is exceptional and meticulous, far exceeding the details of the fibers and veins of the leaves. It is a little jewel with exquisite and exceptional details, Flowers symbolize a hope that love should not be forgotten. It is fitted at the reverse with a 14kt gold horizontal hinged pin bar with a mechanical lock to wear as a brooch, a retractable swivel ring to wear as a pendant in a chain and an optional hook to hang a small lapel clock. Diamond: Mount in the center in a six-prongs setting, with 1 old European round cut diamond of about 0.22 carats, white colorless F color, VS/SI clarity. Diamonds: The steam and the tips of the leaves are mounted in flush settings, with 30 calibrated old European rose cut diamonds, with a combined weight of 0.75 carats, white colorless F color, VS-2/SI-1 clarity. Weight: 7.75 Grams (4.98 Dwt). Measurements: 36 mm by 34 mm by 6 mm (1.42 x 1.34 x 0.23 Inches). Hallmarks: The main body has been electronically tested for 18 karats gold. The lock is stamped with the maker's mark and the mark for the assay of the gold, 14kt. The Edwardian Jewelry The Edwardian Jewelry Period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920. One early mention of "Flower-leafed or purple grasse" is from 1640 and simply says that it was kept in gardens because it was "good for the purples in children or others".
