About the Item

A wonderful antique Belle Epoque, Victorian pendant with a beautifully modeled lion, leopard or panther in 14 Karat Gold with one Sapphire and Diamond eye. We love our panther, lion, cat jewelry and this one has such stunning design. The engraved gold work creates a magnificent image of the big cat with gorgeous details and a fabulous open mouth design. It is very rare to find animal jewels set with one Sapphire and one Diamond in the eye. The diamond is an Old Mine Cut Diamond. The dramatic lion, panther dances delightfully around the neck and creates a conversation piece to be passed on for generations. And animal inspired jewels are all the rage today. The pendant dates to circa 1860 - 1910. The pendant is 5/8 inches (16 mm) long including the bales. Without the bales it is 3/8 inch (11mm) long and 12mm wide. The pendant weighs 1 gram. The pendant is 14K gold. The listing is only for the pendant. The chain is only shown for display.
