Vintage Joyce Spiro Solid Sterling Silver Open-Work Indonesian Shield Pendant Necklace, 15.8" An exceptional piece of Late 20th Century Indonesian heritage, this striking vintage necklace features a large, fully dimensional open-work shield pendant by the acclaimed design house Joyce Spiro. The piece beautifully showcases Spiro's signature synthesis of bold Modernist lines and traditional ethnic Javanese motifs. The focal pendant displays highly polished, sweeping silver scroll ribbons framing a structured central crest. To create maximum artistic contrast, the recessed background features a meticulously hand-stippled texture finished with heavy oxidation to a rich charcoal hue. The substantial pendant moves fluidly along its original, highly flexible sterling silver round snake chain.
