About the Item

This exceptional 925 sterling silver caviar server, titled "Treasures of the Sea," is a sculptural table object that celebrates the fascinating underwater world through the finest traditions of European silversmithing. Combining functional refinement with elaborate artistic craftsmanship, the composition transforms an everyday serving vessel into a museum-quality collectible intended for the most distinguished interiors and dining tables. The composition is inspired by the rich ecosystem of the sea, featuring sturgeons, shells, corals, seaweed, starfish, and abundant marine flora. Every surface of the vessel is sculpted in high relief, creating a continuous underwater panorama. Three sculptural sturgeons form the supporting feet of the vessel, while a gracefully curved sturgeon finial crowns the domed lid, completing the composition with movement and elegance. Designed for the traditional presentation of fine caviar, the sterling silver vessel is intended to hold ice, within which a crystal or glass bowl is placed to keep the caviar perfectly chilled throughout service. This classic method preserves the ideal serving temperature while allowing the sculptural silver exterior to remain the visual centerpiece of the table. Every decorative element begins as an original sculpture entirely hand carved in wax, allowing each fish, shell, and botanical motif to be modeled with exceptional depth and realism. The complete composition is then transformed into sterling silver using the traditional lost wax casting process, followed by hundreds of hours of meticulous hand chasing, engraving, finishing, and silver patination. These historic techniques create remarkable depth, texture, and contrast while highlighting every sculptural detail of the marine landscape. Each caviar server is crafted exclusively for the client, with the possibility to tailor certain decorative details according to individual preferences. Estimated lead time is approximately 3-4 months from order confirmation. Conceived as far more than a serving accessory, "Treasures of the Sea" is designed to function equally as a luxury dining centerpiece, a collectible work of decorative art, and a tribute to the enduring traditions of master silversmiths. Whether displayed in a private collection, luxury residence, yacht, or grand dining room, it becomes an immediate focal point that reflects exceptional craftsmanship and timeless elegance. Dimensions Diameter of inner bowl: 10 cm (3.94 in.) Diameter of outer sterling silver vessel: 22 cm (8.66 in.) Overall height: 30 cm (11.81 in.) Additionally to the finished piece, the client will receive a complimentary signed original design sketch prepared by the atelier and presented as part of the artistic process and provenance of the commission. We also create bespoke works on demand, transforming each client's vision into a one-of-a-kind collectible. From the initial concept and hand-drawn sketches to the final sculptural masterpiece, every stage is guided by precision, artistry, and close collaboration, resulting in objects that are both deeply personal and artistically significant. Each piece is created within the Konforti family atelier, a multi-generational workshop led by Inga and Barak Konforti, and founded by master artists Ella and Yuri Bogoslavsky. Every work is entirely handcrafted using traditional techniques including sculptural wax carving, lost wax casting, chasing, engraving, silver patination, and meticulous hand finishing, continuing a shared artistic legacy shaped across generations.
