About the Item

This oval teal sapphire engagement ring from Ursula Rickmers Jewelry centers a 2.27 carat natural unheated teal sapphire from Tanzania, flanked by diamond clusters in 18k white gold. The sapphire is a true bicolor stone, shifting between deep teal, inky blue, and forest green depending on the light and the angle. In daylight, it leans toward a saturated blue-green; under warmer indoor light, the green tones come forward, and the stone takes on a darker, more mysterious quality. It is the kind of color behavior that makes you pay attention to a stone across a room. On each side of the teal sapphire, a trio of diamonds is arranged in a clustered formation: one pear-cut and two round brilliants per side, totaling 0.31 carats. The pear-shaped stones point outward along the band while the rounds nestle closer to the sapphire, creating a tapered transition that feels organic rather than geometric. The diamonds bring brightness without overwhelming the depth of the center stone, and the cluster arrangement gives the ring a sense of fullness that a simple three-stone setting would not achieve. Handcrafted in our Istanbul atelier by artisans whose work draws on the traditions of the Grand Bazaar, this teal sapphire ring is set in 18k white gold with a band that tapers gracefully toward the setting. The cool metal lets the sapphire's color speak without interference, and four low-profile prongs keep the stone secure while leaving as much of its surface visible as possible. Natural teal sapphires of this size with genuine bicolor behavior are not easy to source.
