About the Item

Art Deco diamond and onyx ring, set with two principal old European cut diamonds within a finely pierced platinum mount, enclosed by an oval onyx border and an outer frame of old cut diamonds. The two principal diamonds have been assessed by GCS as natural old European cut diamonds, each weighing approximately 0.90 carats, with I–K colour and VS1–VS2 clarity. The diamonds are estimated to weigh approximately 3.00 carats in total, with the additional old cut diamonds assessed as approximately H–J colour and VS–SI clarity. The elongated plaque design measures approximately 3.3 cm in length and 1.9 cm in width, creating a striking presence on the hand. The onyx is in excellent condition, with no visible abrasions, providing a crisp contrast to the brightness of the diamonds. The mount displays fine period craftsmanship, with intricate openwork and a well-constructed gallery, and the ring remains in excellent overall condition. Circa 1920. Finger size M. Gross weight 10.5 grams.
