About the Item

The toi et moi ring first came into popularity in 1796, when Napoleon gave Josephine an engagement ring with two stones placed side by side, symbolizing the coming together of two souls. This is a beautiful contemporary take on the design, featuring one diamond bezel set in 18k yellow gold and one diamond set in platinum. The diamond set in yellow gold is L-M in color, with a warmer hue that pairs beautifully with the gold. The second diamond, which is G-H in color, is set in platinum to highlight the whiteness of the stone. The bezels connect to a triangular element underneath the diamonds that protect the stones. A gold band twists around the finger so that the two stones mirror each other in a simple, balanced composition. The bypass design is a timeless classic. The ring makes an elegant engagement ring and can be symbolic of the union of two different identities. It can also be worn to bring sparkle to the hand for any occasion.  The ring contains two natural antique transitional cut diamonds. One diamond is 5.7 mm across, L-M in color and VS2 in clarity. The other diamond is 5.5 mm across, G-H in color and VS2 in clarity. The ring has a TCW of 1.12 carats.  The face of the ring is approximately 1/2” where the diamonds overlap. The band is 1.7 mm. The ring weighs 3.3 grams. Marked 18k gold and platinum.  Ring size 6; could be resized.
