About the Item

This elegant Southwestern-style ring features a prominent oval Royston turquoise stone as its centerpiece. The stone is bezel-set within a finely crafted sterling silver mounting, accented by a delicate twisted rope border that frames the turquoise with subtle texture and detail. Encircling the rope bezel is an ornate silver frame, richly decorated with alternating motifs. Feather-like, fan-shaped elements with finely etched radiating lines are paired with small raindrop accents, arranged in a balanced radial pattern that adds movement and visual depth. Measurements Ring size: 7.5 Turquoise stone: ¾” x ½” Silver frame: 1 ¼” x 1” Weight: 0.5 oz About the Stone Royston Turquoise Royston turquoise is celebrated for its distinctive range of colors, from deep greens to rich, light blues, often accented with a natural brown matrix. The Royston district in Nevada includes several small mines, such as Bunker Hill and Oscar Wehrend, with the Royal Blue claim being one of the most notable producers. Although still active, Royston is a limited and small-scale operation, producing turquoise in relatively small quantities. Its unique coloration and organic variation make it highly valued among collectors and artisans. About the Artist Randy Boyd Randy Boyd was raised in Gallup, New Mexico, where silversmithing and stone setting were part of everyday life. He began working with silver at the age of sixteen and fully dedicated himself to the craft in 1990, steadily refining his skills over decades. Influenced by master jeweler Ray Tracey, Boyd developed the precision and attention to detail that define his work today. Rooted in his Navajo heritage, his jewelry reflects a deep respect for traditional techniques while expressing a distinctive and evolving personal style. Working primarily in sterling silver with natural stones, Boyd creates pieces that are both grounded in cultural heritage and uniquely expressive. With over thirty years of experience, his work is recognized for its craftsmanship, balance, and enduring quality.
