Hand sculpted using the traditional lost-wax technique, Unfinished Sculpture 01 features an assertive, fluid structure that gracefully contours the hand. KARNEEVAL — Artist Statement Kamila Karnawalska is the founder and sole artist behind KARNEEVAL, a Warsaw-based jewelry practice working in heavy, sculptural sterling silver. Each piece is hand-formed and made to order. Her formal grounding comes from twelve years spent working alongside Igor Dobrowolski, an internationally recognized painter and sculptor whose work has been exhibited in Warsaw, Miami, Taiwan, London, Los Angeles, and Berlin. That apprenticeship shaped her understanding of form, material, and the discipline behind making objects meant to last. That training now lives inside every piece she casts in silver. Her work sits deliberately at the edge between jewelry and sculpture. The forms are organic, molten, sometimes claw-like — pieces that wrap, twist, and grip the body rather than simply adorn it. Weight is not incidental; it is part of the language. Where much contemporary jewelry moves toward lightness and minimalism, KARNEEVAL insists on mass, presence, and a kind of quiet aggression in form. Kamila approaches her work in two ways: some pieces exist as one-of-a-kind objects, made once and never repeated. Others are recurring forms within her practice — signature shapes she returns to and remakes by hand for each new order, so that no two pieces are ever truly identical, even within the same design. Based in Warsaw, she handles every part of the process herself: design, casting, finishing, and the relationship with each person who wears the work. The jewelry is meant to be worn constantly, not saved for occasions — closer to a second skin than an accessory.
