Up for sale is a stunning vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 6265 from 1980, with the legendary “Big Red” dial — a must-have for any serious collector. This is an extremely desirable and iconic piece of Rolex history, offered here in excellent, honest vintage condition, with no box or papers, as pictured.

• Model: Rolex Cosmograph Daytona
• Reference: 6265
• Year: circa 1980 (serial and caseback dates available on request)
• Dial: Black — classic “Big Red” with bold red “Daytona” inscription above the 6 o’clock sub-dial. Stamped Tiffany

• Case Size: 37 mm stainless steel Oyster case 
• Bezel: Fixed stainless steel tachymeter bezel — the hallmark of the 6265 (vs. the acrylic bezel on 6263). 
• Pushers / Crown: Screw-down chronograph pushers + screw-down winding crown — the 6265 marked a significant upgrade in robustness and water resistance over earlier Daytonas. 
• Movement: Manual-winding Rolex Caliber 727 (column-wheel chronograph) — the final evolution of the classic Valjoux 72 family. 
• Bracelet / Strap: Original steel Rolex Oyster bracelet (bracelet shows light wear consistent with age, no major stretch; in overall good condition).
• Crystal: Plexiglass (factory original)

• Dial & Hands: The dial is in excellent condition — clean, with strong contrast, crisp printing, and fully intact luminous plots. There are no visible blemishes or signs of degradation on the sub-dials or central surfaces.
• Case: The stainless steel case remains sharp, with well-defined lug edges and thickness — evidence that the watch has not been overly polished. The bezel remains clean and evenly finished.
• Bracelet: The bracelet is correct for the reference, with minimal stretch and light age-related surface wear. No significant dents or dings.
• Movement: The Cal. 727 chronograph runs smoothly and resets properly. Keeps good time (vintage regulation), but as with all vintage chronographs, a full service is recommended if you plan to wear it regularly.
