About the Item

“Petra” is a sculptural ceramic centerpiece by Heather Knight, founder of Element Clay Studio (est. 2007), a Savannah-based studio known for organic modern forms and collectible ceramic objects. Hand-built from a marbled blend of white porcelain and black stoneware, this piece explores the layered movement of stone and mineral through a refined, painterly surface. Swirls of warm white, charcoal, and deep brown create a natural composition, ensuring each piece is entirely one of a kind. Its softly undulating, petal-like form expands outward in a 12-inch silhouette, balancing a sense of lightness with quiet structural presence. The result is both expressive and restrained—equally suited as a functional serving piece or a sculptural object within a curated interior. High-fired for durability and finished with a subtle satin surface, the piece carries a honed, marble-like sheen. A food-safe acrylic seal allows for everyday use while preserving the integrity of the material. Each piece is individually handcrafted in Savannah, Georgia and reflects the studio’s commitment to slow, intentional production and refined form. This piece is in stock and will ship within 3–5 business days. Complimentary domestic shipping included.
