About the Item

“Isolde” is a one-of-a-kind sculptural vessel from Heather Knight’s Coeur Collection, created in her Savannah-based Element Clay Studio (est. 2007). Hand-built from layered porcelain and dark stoneware, this piece reveals softly flowing marbled patterns that evoke sediment, stone, and shifting terrain. Unlike higher-contrast works in the collection, Isolde carries a quieter, more tonal palette—warm whites layered with deep brown and soft charcoal—creating a sense of depth that feels both grounded and refined. Its form is intimate and organic, with gently rising sides and subtle undulations that give the piece a natural, sculptural presence. The marbling is embedded directly within the clay body, allowing the surface to remain unglazed and tactile while still feeling smooth and considered. High-fired for durability and finished with a soft, honed surface, Isolde functions beautifully as both a decorative object and a small vessel. This piece is in stock and ready to ship. John Albert Murphy Porcelain "Dark Days Ahead" Sculptural Nested Bowls

John Albert Murphy Porcelain "Dark Days Ahead" Sculptural Nested Bowls

Located in Detroit, MI

"Dark Days Ahead" is in fact a glorious paper-thin porcelain sculpture with fluted sides. The "two bowls and one ball" are nestled and permanently fixed. The black and white linear design to the porcelain is relieved by the movement of the fluted sides of the "bowls." This complex design is both light and airy while being visually weighted by the innermost "ball" being covered in a silver glaze suggesting heavy stainless steel. The ceramic piece is slip cast porcelain, masking tape stenciled and glazed in the style of abstract expressionism, specifically Pointillism.  It was fired in oxidation at 2230 degrees Fahrenheit.  The sphere in the center has luster glaze. John Albert Murphy...
