The title of this piece, Seven Bits ; Everything Else, hints at the premise that the conscious mind can only handle seven bits of information at one time. Meanwhile, the subconscious mind handles it all. This is abstractly presented with the serene, atmospheric background, set back from the surface with the addition of a subtle foreground grid.
About the Artist
Karen’s abstract paintings are best described as an exploration in color. Often monochromatic, her work is a meditative and serene improvisation in the movement and depth of paint. Whether executed in earthy shades or vibrant tones, each painting evokes a different mood for the viewer’s contemplation. Karen’s body of work gives a gentle nod to the Color Field movement of the 20th Century, grounding her portfolio solidly within the evolving story of contemporary art.
