Wonderful abstract 20th-century painting by the important Venetian post-war artist Roberto Ferruzzi (VENICE 1927 - 2010) "Interno con Helene R Ferruzzi 1978" “Interior with Helene”, oil on panel, signed by Roberto Ferruzzi and dated 1978 as the inscription on the reverse. The composition depicts a domestic setting brought to life by figures, furnishings and vibrant colour fields, rendered with a free, concise and highly decorative style. Signed, titled and dated on the reverse, this work will appeal to collectors of late 20th-century art and to those seeking a painting with character, capable of complementing elegant interiors, professional studios and tasteful homes. Our company has been present on this platform for many years, with more than 100 sales made and just as many excellent reviews received that you can under our Furniture account. *Interior with Helene* by Roberto Ferruzzi is an oil on panel, signed and dated 1978, executed in a free, vibrant style with a strong sense of atmosphere. The scene transforms the domestic space into a composition rich in atmosphere, colour and painterly quality. The title is handwritten on the reverse and the date is 1978, as indicated by the inscription on the back. The work is distinguished by a fluid and intense pictorial construction, in which the domestic space is rendered as a rhythmic ensemble of chairs, a table, figures and furnishings, evoked rather than described in an analytical sense. The composition reveals an interest in visual synthesis and the structural value of colour. The painting does not seek a meticulous naturalistic rendering, but derives its strength from the rhythm of the masses, the relationship between solid and void, and a broad, vibrant, sometimes abbreviated brushstroke, which lends the whole a sense of immediacy and expressive tension. The painting displays characteristics consistent with a mature twentieth-century sensibility, oriented towards a free interpretation of the bourgeois or domestic interior. The figures in the foreground, the central table, the female figure on the left, the fireplace on the right and the paintings hanging on the walls constitute a lived-in setting, constructed not so much through perspective as through chromatic clusters and flashes of light. Particularly effective is the way in which Roberto Ferruzzi organises the scene through a vibrant palette, in which pinks, blues, ochres, browns and greens articulate the surface with a dynamic balance. The forms are simplified, at times almost abbreviated, but never random: every element contributes to the compositional coherence and the atmospheric quality of the whole. The figure of Helene, already evoked in the title, is not treated as a formal portrait, but as a presence within the space, an integral part of the room’s rhythm.
