Buddha Head - Mid-Century Japanese Woodcut Print Modernist woodblock print by Japanese artist Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997.) A large head sits in the center of the composition, printed in cool umber tones. The head is in full profile and has a geometric feel to its composition. The background of the image is printed in a rich, deep purple ink. The print is on a beautiful handmade paper, with visible pulp strands and variation.
