About the Item

Kiode Must is a sculpture by French contemporary artist Jacques Owczarek. This sculpture is available in format 6 cm x 12 cm x 11 cm (2.3 x 4.7 x 4.3 in). The artwork is signed and numbered, it is part of a limited edition of 8 editions + 4 artist’s proofs, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. This bronze frog emerges through a refined interplay of lines, edges, and curves. The artist’s distinctive interpretation is revealed in the precision of the form, the crispness of the contours, and the sculpture’s geometric quality, elements that together make this frog a singular piece, imbued with emotion. White bronze is a bronze alloy in which part of the copper is replaced with tin and zinc, giving the material its characteristic silvery sheen. Jacques Owczarek is a self-taught sculptor who discovered his passion for sculpture at the age of 30, a moment he describes as his true beginning. A tireless craftsman, he approaches each piece with meticulous attention to detail, driven by a constant pursuit of perfection. His creative process is entirely intuitive: he never sets out with a specific animal in mind. As he explains, "I take some clay, I work it and I observe it. I try and perceive some sort of animal and progressively it’ll come to me. It’s the clay that is talking and my hands are just interpreting." Owczarek’s animal sculptures are remarkable in their complexity. Viewed from one angle, their full form remains hidden; only by moving around them does the full picture emerge. His works radiate both sensitivity and humor, as if each sculpture carries a fragment of the artist’s soul within it.
