About the Item

A finely mounted antique Chinese embroidered silk panel, composed of robe fragments carefully stitched and presented as a vertically oriented decorative textile. The central field depicts a stylized garden landscape with pagoda architecture, scholars, and water motifs, executed in silk thread embroidery against a pale ground. The border is composed of contrasting embroidered floral silk in shades of blue, creating a layered architectural presentation. The panel is framed under glass in a warm-toned wood frame that complements the textile’s ivory and blue palette. Originally part of a larger garment or robe, the composition has been thoughtfully assembled to create a balanced vertical panel—particularly well suited for narrow walls, flanking doorways, stair landings, or townhouse entries where height is desired without visual heaviness. The restrained blue and ivory coloration makes it especially adaptable to contemporary interiors, bridging traditional craftsmanship and collected urban design. Presented framed and ready to hang. Dimensions" 26.5 in. H x 12.5 in. W (sight) 28.75 in. H x 15 in. W (frame) Condition: Good antique condition.
