About the Item

Exceptional, solid lead fountain figure a boy holding a shell, Can be used as a fountain or a standalone sculpture. The casting is notably refined, with an exceptional smooth finish, sensitively modeled face, finely articulated, arms, hands, legs and feet. Still using Victorian, morality, the private area is covered with a fig leaf. Crisp detailing. throughout the boys standing comfortably in a con pasta pose meditating on the shell. The boy retains a beautifully aged gray surface. with nice patina. English or continental first quarter of the 20th century. please see more photos and video. The original piping is still present.
