About the Item

Elegant earthenware cachepot from the Manufacture de Gien, France, decorated with a rich polychrome peony design. This model features a handsome moving form with two side handles and rests on three curved feet. The brightly colored decoration (blue, red, yellow and green) highlights large stylized peonies, symbols of elegance and abundance, finely processed in a traditional technique. Marked on the reverse "Gien France", attesting to quality workmanship from this famous manufacture. Material: earthenware Manufacture: Gien, France Era: 20th century Dimensions: height 27 cm, width 42 cm Condition: good overall condition, with a slight network of cracks in the enamel, in keeping with the nature of the piece. An elegant decorative piece, emblematic of Gien's savoir-faire.
