About the Item

A remarkable pair of slip-glazed ceramic cachepots, dating from the late 19th century. Each piece features a spectacular high-relief decoration composed of fantastical mascarons with expressive features, surrounded by scrolls and stylized plant motifs. The lower section is finished in a luminous turquoise glaze evoking undulating movement, contrasting harmoniously with the honey-brown and deep green tones of the upper section. The modeling is powerful and sculptural, revealing high-quality workmanship typical of late 19th-century French production, in the style of the Onnaing or Orchies manufactories. A highly decorative set, ideal for a Napoleon III, eclectic, or Art Nouveau interior. Sold as a pair. Dimensions: Height: 22 cm Diameter: 26 cm Very good condition.
