French Thuya Burl Footed Bowl with Ebonized Center, Late 19th Century A wonderful French footed decorative bowl crafted in richly figured Thuya burl wood, dating from the late 19th century. Raised on an elegant pedestal with a contrasting ebonized center section, the piece displays a refined silhouette inspired by classical forms while celebrating the extraordinary natural beauty of the wood. The bowl and foot are both executed in warm-toned Thuya burl, showcasing dramatic swirling grain, characteristic bird’s-eye figuring, and deep organic contrasts unique to Thuya root. The blackened central element creates a sophisticated visual contrast and lends the piece a distinctly architectural presence.
