About the Item

Exceptional studio glass box by renowned American-Austrian artist Jack Ink. Glass with inclusions and cast brass.This unique piece features a sinuous, undulating form with a shallow domed lid and ribbed walls. Crafted in colorless glass with embedded inclusions and fused elements, the surface evokes estuarine textures and geological layering. Accents of cast brass enrich the composition, offering a striking contrast to the fluidity of the glass. Incised "Jack Ink A 2028" on base Dimensions: 28 × 14 × 17 cm (11 × 5.5 × 6.65 in.) Condition: Excellent Provenance: From the artist’s studio Incised "Jack Ink A 2028" on base Artist Biography: Jack Ink (b. 1944, Canton, Ohio) studied at the University of Wisconsin, where he apprenticed under Eric Rudans and Harvey K. Littleton, founder of the Studio Glass movement. Since 1975, Ink has lived and worked in Austria, where he founded the Studio Glass Group Austria and heads the Glass Studio Franzensbad. His works are held in major glass museums worldwide and have been honored with the Bavarian Government Award and the prestigious Coburg Glass Prize. The Glasmuseum Frauenau has dedicated multiple exhibitions to his work. Dimensions: 28 x 14 x 17 cm (11 x 5.5 x 6.65 in.). Jack Ink, glass artist, was born in 1944 in Canton, Ohio, United States. Jack Ink studied among others at the University of Wisconsin, where he started his career as assistant to Eric Rudans and Harvey K. Littleton, the founder of the international Studio glass movement. He has lived in Austria since 1975 and is founder of the Studio Glass Group Austria, heading the Glass Studio Franzensbad. Today Jack Ink's work is in all important glass museums around the world. Honored with the Bavarian Government Award and the International renowned Coburg Award. The Glasmuseum Frauenau has dedicated various exhibitions to the work of Jack Ink. (internet source).
