About the Item

Théodore Haviland Limoges “Bombones Saint” Porcelain Box after Sandoz, France, circa 1920 Striking French porcelain lidded box from the “Bombones Saint” series by Théodore Haviland, Limoges, featuring a sculptural animal form after designs by Sandoz. This highly decorative piece depicts a stylized animal with dramatically elongated ears and finely hand-painted black and white fur detailing. The sculptural modeling and bold graphic treatment reflect the refined yet playful aesthetic associated with early 20th century French decorative arts. Executed in fine Limoges porcelain with glossy glaze and hand-painted decoration. The interior retains the original Théodore Haviland Limoges mark, France, along with “Bombones Saint” and “Déposé.” France, circa 1920–1930.
