A superb pair of iconic Baccarat Harcourt crystal candlesticks, standing approximately 8 inches tall and presented in immaculate, apparently unused condition. An exceptional choice for collectors and connoisseurs of fine French crystal. These elegant candlesticks belong to the celebrated Harcourt collection by Baccarat, instantly recognisable for its powerful architectural geometry, exceptional clarity and beautifully faceted crystal. The design combines a strong hexagonal, architectural form with the extraordinary brilliance created by Baccarat’s precision cutting and polishing. Despite their substantial appearance, the clean lines allow them to sit comfortably within both traditional and contemporary interiors. The Harcourt design is one of Baccarat's most recognisable forms, having become synonymous with French luxury and prestigious table settings around the world. These candlesticks make an impressive pair when displayed together, particularly as a dining-table centrepiece, mantel decoration, console display or part of a fine crystal collection. 🥂 They would also make an exceptional wedding, anniversary or milestone gift for someone who appreciates fine French craftsmanship. BACCARAT HARCOURT The Harcourt collection has an extraordinary history. Created in the 19th century, the design was commissioned for Emperor Napoleon III and subsequently became associated with some of the world's most prestigious tables and institutions. Its bold, sculptural silhouette has remained remarkably contemporary, allowing Harcourt pieces to work equally well in historic interiors and modern homes. MARKINGS Both candlesticks bear the acid-etched Baccarat mark beneath the base. Interestingly, only one of the two examples has the Baccarat name engraved in the characteristic italic lettering along the upper edge of the base. Comparable pairs can occasionally be found where the branding is not identically positioned on both pieces. Please see all photographs for the markings. MEASUREMENTS Height: Approx. 8" (20.3 cm) Width: Approx. 3.75" (9.5 cm) CONDITION MINT / PRISTINE CONDITION. Both candlesticks appear to be unused, with no scratches, chips, cracks, abrasions or other damage noted. The crystal remains exceptionally clear and bright.
