About the Item

A fine example of an eight day longcase clock with wonderful full brass dial, moon roller and date hand. The superb mahogany case has a cross banded door veneered in flame mahogany with reeded columns to the sides, the base also has a cross banded panel and the original ogee feet. The hood has a swan neck with a carved and gilded swag of flowers above the original eglomise panels, topped with three finials and a pagoda. Isaac Hadwen and his family are recorded working in Ormskirk and Liverpool The dial and movement of the best Lancashire quality and case is probably by Gillows The fully cleaned movement has a 2 year warranty.
