About the Item
This sculpture depicts Mercury or Hermes, depending on whether the Roman or Greek names for the gods are used. The original was sculpted by Giambologna in the 19th century. This bronze statue is of museum quality and was hand-cast in high-quality bronze using the "lost-wax method" on a black marble base by a Neapolitan foundry in the 1950s.
