MEISSEN REMARKABLE FIGURINE BY PAUL SCHEURICH (1883 - 1945) FEMALE BALLET DANCER 'CHIARINA' FROM THE SERIES 'RUSSIAN BALLET CARNIVAL' designed 1912/13 DESIGNER: PAUL SCHEURICH (1883-1945) Paul Scheurich was painter, sculptor, graphic artist, drawer and stage designer / he studied at Academy of Arts in Berlin / Germany during the years 1900-02. He worked for Meissen manufactory from 1913 to 1936. Undoubtedly he belonged to one of most important porcelain designers of first half of 20th century. His customers were for example porcelain manufactories such as KPM, Nymphenburg, Meissen. SPECIFICATIONS: Female Ballet Dancer named 'CHIARINA' of Russian Ballet of stunning appearance - she is balancing on tiptoes of left leg / right leg is raised; the dancing lady is looking sidewards, being dressed in nicest ballet-dress. The female figurine is supported by pedestal / her face mask and some flowers have been laid on ground. The Ballet Lady is attached to oval white base. Multicolored painted (look for example at the nicest flower's pattern, please !). HISTORY OF DESIGN: In 1912/13, Scheurich modelled five characters from the Russian Ballet Carnival that had impressed him very much during performance in Berlin by Petersburg Ballet Dancers in 1910.
