Set of Six Italian Gold-Plated/Finished Leather Horsebit Old-Fashioned Glasses, Style of Gucci, 1970s A striking and unusual set of six Italian Mid-Century Modern old-fashioned glasses, each encased within sculptural gold-plated leather holders adorned with equestrian horsebit hardware, executed in the unmistakable style of Gucci, circa 1970s. Each glass features a removable cylindrical insert subtly accented with a smoky gray band at the rim—an elegant detail characteristic of Italian glass design of the period. The holders are masterfully constructed from thick saddle leather, wrapped and secured with visible rivets, then finished/plated with a gold surface that evokes a richness while retaining the warmth and tactile quality of leather. The defining feature of the design is the applied horsebit motif—an iconic reference to equestrian culture and luxury fashion—rendered here as a functional buckle closure, further reinforcing the connection to fine leatherwork and saddle-making traditions. The interiors are lined in black, providing both structural reinforcement and protection for the removable glass inserts.
