Italian Murano glass ceremonial goblet calice presentation vessel crafted during the nineteen sixties showcases exquisite Venetian Baroque revival design. Handcrafted in Italy, this statuesque standing calice rises from an expansive, circular pedestal foot into an architectural baluster stem sculpted with stacked, graduated baluster knops. Supporting the upper composition, the stem elevates an elongated, bell-shaped tulip cup featuring gently fluted vertical facets that flare outward toward a wide, fire-polished scalloped rim. Master glassmakers mouth-blew and assembled each component freehand at the furnace (a mano volante), pairing intricate filigree glassmaking with radiant metallic inclusions. The tulip-form cup is executed using traditional ribbon cane techniques (a canne / mezza filigrana), displaying alternating vertical ribbons of translucent sky-blue crystal (azzurro chiaro) and opaque milk-white glass (lattimo). In luxurious contrast, the spreading foot and baluster stem are worked in clear crystal richly suffused with genuine twenty-four-karat gold leaf inclusions (foglia d'oro / polvere d'oro) and detailed with delicate spiral ribbing (rigadin ritorto).
