About the Item

This is a Water Jug or Pitcher hand made of solid Brass, all in the Art Nouveau style. manufactured by Joseph Sankey and Sons The water jug is made with a high loop handle, a flip-top decorative lid and hold about 1.25 pints with NO leaks. This beautiful Water Jug has a classic Art Nouveau design called Honeysuckle. The jugs were made in Copper and Brass but the brass jug is rarer. Sankey made a few different pieces with art nouveau designs, like this jug and they have registered designs from 1896 through to 1914. The piece is fully marked to the base. We date this jug to Circa 1900 t0 1905. The brass has a good colour and natural patination. We have not repolished it. Overall a beautiful antique brass water jug with a lovely Art-Nouveau sinuous floral pattern.
