About the Item

Elegant pair of Italian wall sconces from the 1950s, showcasing a refined Mid-Century Modern design with strong modernist character. Each sconce features a gently curved brass arm forming an elongated U-shaped profile, creating a balanced and sculptural silhouette when mounted on the wall. The structure is enriched by a circular wall backplate in green lacquered metal, measuring 10 cm (3.94 in) in diameter, contrasted by a red lacquered metal socket holder and a delicate yellow spherical finial at the upper end of the arm. The light source is completed by a spherical opaline glass shade, which diffuses a soft and warm light. The combination of curved lines, geometric elements, and carefully chosen colors reflects the playful yet elegant aesthetic typical of Italian design in the post-war period. These sconces work beautifully as bedside lights, hallway fixtures, or accent lighting in both period and contemporary interiors. The lamps are fitted with standard E14 sockets, suitable for use in Europe, the USA, and Canada with the appropriate bulbs. Very good vintage condition, with minor signs of age consistent with time and use.
