The company is known for producing high-quality stoneware pottery with distinctive glazes and designs. In the mid-20th century, Søholm Stentøj became known for its modernist designs, which were influenced by the Scandinavian design movement. One of Søholm Stentøj's most famous designers was Noomi Backhausen, who worked for the company from the 1950s to the 1970s.
