About the Item

Royal Delft blue and white ceramic table lamp, hand-painted in the Netherlands by De Porceleyne Fles and dated 1978, with a long-tailed bird among flowering branches. A Chinoiserie-inspired Dutch Delftware vase, hand-crafted into a lamp, with a new white pleated silk shade. Newly wired for U.S. use. International plug customization available at no charge. Height includes lampshade. The underside carries the printed blue semicircular De Porceleyne Fles factory label alongside the hand-painted JT, jar mark, and "Delft" in script — the dating system used by the factory since 1879. To the left of the mark are the painter's initials; to the right, the year code CX, confirming production in 1978. Fitted with custom cut brass and a fabric wrapped twisted navy cord. About Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) De Porceleyne Fles was founded in Delft in 1653, one of more than thirty potteries producing tin-glazed earthenware in the city during the Dutch Golden Age. It is the only one still working. The factory was granted the right to use the Royal predicate and remains the definitive source of Dutch Delftware, still painting every piece by hand. Its marks — the factory cipher, the painter's initials, the shape number, and the alphabetic year code — allow individual pieces to be dated and attributed, and make the wares consistently collectible. The studio's work is guided by a commitment to sustainability, cultural heritage, and timeless design.

Chinoiserie Table Lamp by Velsen, Delft White Ceramic, New Lampshade

By Delft, Amitābha Studio

Located in Sitges, Barcelona

This blue and white Chinoiserie ceramic table lamp features a vintage Dutch Delftware style vase with sculptural ribbing paired with a custom Chinoiserie lampshade, blending mid-century design with traditional Dutch ceramic heritage. The authentic Velsen pottery vase has been transformed into functional lighting that celebrates both Dutch and Asian decorative arts. The vase base displays distinctive vertical ribbing in white glaze characteristic of mid-20th century Dutch pottery. Its classic ginger jar silhouette exemplifies the Delfts Wit style—white glazed Delftware that developed alongside the more famous blue and white tradition. When illuminated, the smooth glaze creates beautiful ambient light diffusion. The new bespoke drum lampshade by Amitābha...
