About the Item

A fine ancient bronze ghanta bell. In a Buddhist style. With engraved and embossed geometric decoration to the bell body. The handle with a 3 point vajra device with each point emanating from figural dragon's mouths. Lacks a clapper. Simply a wonderful antique bell! Date: Atleast 18th Century and likely much earlier. Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is no clapper. There is a hole and a chip to opposite sides of the bell. The tips of the vajra handle have all oxidated and no longer connect. There is significant edge wear to the lip of the bell, wear to the details, and extensive oxidation to the bell and the end of the handle. Otherwise, there is edge wear, some dings and indentations here and there, some light surface scratches, and other signs of wear consistent with age. Marks: Unmarked Measurements: Height: ca. 7 1/4 in. Diameter: ca. 2 5/8 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 7 days.
