About the Item

In this listing you will find a spectacular Antique Kurdhish camel saddle. It is hand-knotted in thick wool pile by Herki tribes. The Herki tribe are renowned for their traditional, handwoven saddlebags used on camels (or horses/donkeys), rather than a specific rigid saddle frame. These are a functional item for nomadic life and also a significant piece of tribal art featuring distinctive geometric patterns. This piece features stunning geometric patterns in natural dyed wool. Made in the 19th century. The saddle bag is in a very good vintage condition. When purchased the saddle bag will be carefully wrapped up and packed in a way to avoid any damages in transport. As soon as shipped you will receive the tracking number for your package. If you have any additional questions regarding this piece please feel free to contact me. Happy shopping!
