Pair of Bamboo Brighton Pavilion Chairs

Fabulous pair of burnt bamboo armchairs with gracefully shaped horseshoe frames in the Brighton Pavilion style. These tall, beautifully handcrafted Chinese Chippendale chairs feature a tortoiseshell finish, caned-bottom seats, and intricate bamboo open fretwork. Seat without a loose cushion is 19" high. Cushions are not included. Chinese design and bamboo furniture became highly fashionable in the Western world after the completion of the Royal Pavilion in Brighton for future King George IV in 1801. George had a love of fine and decorative arts and a fascination with the Chinese style.
