About the Item

Pair of Early Midcentury Regency Style Caned Library Chairs with Quilted Tufted Upholstery A handsome pair of early midcentury Regency style library chairs featuring sculptural wood frames, inset cane panels, and tailored quilted upholstery. Each chair is designed with a gently flared crest rail, a tall rectangular caned back, gracefully curved arms, and caned side panels that create an elegant sense of openness and visual lightness. The warm brown finish highlights the natural character of the wood and complements the intricate caning throughout. Turned front legs fitted with brass capped casters add a traditional Regency detail while allowing the chairs to be moved easily. Generously padded seats are upholstered in a neutral cream fabric with a subtle diamond pattern, button tufting, and coordinating piped edges. The combination of richly finished wood, woven cane, and softly tailored upholstery gives these chairs a refined yet comfortable presence. Their balanced proportions make them particularly well suited for a library, living room, bedroom, study, or private office. They would also create an attractive conversational grouping beside a fireplace or occasional table. Presented in house ready condition.
