About the Item

This antique Chinese coffer from the turn of the century is crafted in the geometric style of Tianjin cabinetry, faced with five drawers, four doors and prominent hardware. Every door and drawer is secured with a rectangular brass plate, each with concealed pulls that hinge outwards upon being pressed. The many drawers, doors and hardwares create an intriguing interplay of lines across the cabinet front, reminiscent of the abstract compositions of Piet Mondrian. Ideal today as a sideboard or buffet, the coffer is otherwise simple and minimal, decorated only by beaded edging, scroll-form feet and a dark brown lacquer finish. Central post between doors is removable. Additional Dimensions: Upper Drawers: 14.5"W x 18"D x 3.75"H Lower Drawers: 8"W x 18"D x 3"H Outer Doors: 7.75"W x 11"H Middle Doors: 13.25"W x 16"H
