About the Item

This antique Chinese sideboard from the early 20th century balances a streamlined silhouette with textured, wabi-sabi materials. Crafted in the style of Mongolian storage trunks, the three-door coffer was originally configured to open from the top and has been modified with front-facing doors and an interior shelf. The cabinet's exterior is brushed with glossy lacquer in shades of blue, green and creme-yellow, applied atop the well-worn original finish for renewed vibrancy and a one-of-a-kind crackled finish. The gradient shades of light and dark remind us of a blue sky dotted with clouds, or perhaps the sand and surf of a sunny beach. Additional Dimensions: Door Opening: 20.5"W Shelves: 11.75"H
