About the Item

Solid walnut console table, from a northern Italian area with Venetian influence, datable to the first decades of the 19th century, in full Charles X taste with references still related to the rocaille repertoire. The cabinet is distinguished by the rich carving that affects the entire structure. The wavy band is embellished with elegant carved plant motifs, while the strongly shaped and perforated legs give the console a dramatic and dynamic presence. The lower transom, also richly carved and animated, converges in the center into a turned vase-like element that gives additional momentum to the whole. Particularly refined is the top, veneered in feathery essence arranged in spots in four mirrored mirrors, featuring a decorative natural marbling to great aesthetic effect. The entire console has a warm patina that enhances the quality of the wood and carvings. Measurements: width 141 cm depth 60 cm height 86 cm Good overall conservative condition, with normal signs of time consistent with the era.
