About the Item

A most elegant and high quality Venetian 18th century Giltwood, Mecca and Fleur de Pêcher marble console. This stunning freestanding console is raised by four slender tapered cabriole legs. The legs are finished at the bottom with carved acanthus leaves while at the top are hanging floral branches. The bombee shaped front apron has a fanciful pierced central reserve with roses in the center and scrolled side branches. The side friezes also display a decorative pierced design with a floral center above a foliate scrolled branch. The upper portion of each leg is elegantly designed with a decorative lattice pattern finished with a silver leaf and shellac finish, known as Mecca. The top has a concave carved draped Giltwood design with a Mecca background all below its original Fleur de Pêcher marble top a fine mottled edge border
