About the Item

A stunning Victorian oak table with a circular top. When converted to bench/settle mode (top flipped up as the back), it becomes a high-backed hall settle/monk’s bench. The area under the table also acts as storage space inside the box base. Rich dark patinated finish. Serves as a substantial occasional table (ideal for dining, games, or display—seating 4–6 comfortably given the size.) Also perfect for serving tea or wine as these were commonly used in English taverns. Made circa late 19th century in England. No obvious markings on the piece. In good condition. Gentle wear consistent with age and use. Perfect for use in a breakfast room or for serving in a common area or covered patio. The potentially versatile use of this type of table would add value to any home.
