About the Item

One of the most iconic images ever produced by John James Audubon, beautifully presented exactly as time intended. This framed reproduction of Audubon’s celebrated Carolina Parrot features rich color, wonderful detail, and is housed in what I believe is an antique painted wood frame with beautifully worn character throughout. The soft cream finish, hints of green trim, and decades of honest wear complement the artwork perfectly. The print itself shows age-related toning and foxing throughout—what we affectionately call “Florida freckles” around here. It has been gently cleaned, but I intentionally chose not to over-restore or replace anything that contributes to its history and charm. The frame likewise retains scattered paint loss, scuffs, and wear consistent with age, all of which add to its collected appearance rather than detract from it. This isn’t a perfect piece. It’s an old piece. And sometimes those are the ones with the most soul. Please zoom in on all photos and reach out with any questions happy to help.
