About the Item

Delightful devotional embroidery on ivory silk, depicting the Madonna and Child. The subject, taken from traditional iconographic patterns, is rendered with great sensitivity through meticulous hand-crafted work. The interweaving of threads in natural tones-cream, brown, gray, blue, and touches of red-defines the gentle expressions of faces and the draperies of robes with remarkable accuracy. Simplified halos and a neutral background lend an intimate tone to the composition. The work is mounted on textile support and preserved within a coeval carved and gilded wooden frame, with signs of time consistent with its age. Embroidery size: 19 × 27 cm Framed size: 30 × 41 cm ✉️ For more information please contact us. Worldwide shipping available.
