Robert Bushong Silkscreen Wall Scroll Chanticleer for Tom Tru Raymor MCM

Robert Bushong Silkscreen Wall Scroll Chanticleer for Tom Tru Raymor MCM

Located in Topeka, KS

Wonderful Mid-Century Modern silkscreen wall scroll titled Chanticleer by Robert R. Bushong for Tom Tru and distributed by Raymor. It is in fantastic vintage condition and circa 1959. I’ve recently become attracted to roosters and chickens in general, and these regal characters are really great! This wall-hanging is depicted in the Tom Tru Spring wall scroll catalog for 1959. Attributed to Robert R. Bushong, although the signature on this one is missing the G. Since the signature is so close to the edge we believe the G just did not make it into the screen printing process. This example is what was advertised in the catalog as: powder, royal, sage, brown on black texture. Otherwise known as powder blue, royal blue, sage green, and brown. Its solid walnut top and bottom mouldings are just beautiful as are these fantastic chanticleer, the name for roosters especially in fairy tales. Robert Bushong...

Contemporary Kinder Harris Large Scale Mixed Media Art Collage Titled Gold Rush

Contemporary Kinder Harris Large Scale Mixed Media Art Collage Titled Gold Rush

By Kinder-Harris

Located in Topeka, KS

Beautiful vintage Contemporary Kinder Harris large scale mixed media art collage signed & titled Gold Rush triple matted in a gilded wood frame. Lovely condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th Century. There’s GOLD in this here shop!!!! LOL!!! Anyone remember Looney Tunes… Yosemite Sam?? Ok, maybe I just dated myself… Oh Well!!! LOL… This is a STUNNING mixed media wall art collage signed & titled “Gold Rush.” It is a large scale or monumental piece bearing the Kinder-Harris Art label which indicates that it was done before Kinder-Harris was sold to JC Penny Company in 1992. It is signed however… we just can’t make it out! We have researched, messaged, & emailed but to no avail. Kind of looks like Rita Millat… kind of looks like R. Millat… (Robert?) Or… could be a P… or an N… (SIGH) Fancy signatures!! Anyway, since we can’t locate the artist we are selling this magnificent piece for its intrinsic decorative value and is priced as such. It presents attractive abstract elements beautifully composed of textured & torn paper, fabric, threads, paint, & metallic gold & copper details. It is triple matted bearing a thin gold inside edge & it’s encased in a superbly simple gilded wood frame. Talk about a GOLDEN TREASURE!!!!! And the wonderful concept of abstract art is that the perception of the piece is left to the imagination of the viewer! It is Contemporary in style and it will be gorgeous among your Art Deco Revival, Hollywood Regency, or Modern décor whether on a wall along a stairway, in an entry, in the master bedroom above your bed, in your living or family room, or mounted on a sizeable wall in your dining area. This breath-taking piece is full of fantastic colors, extraordinary textures, and exudes a fascinating abstract presence you are sure to love for years to come.
