About the Item

We are pleased to present a charming and highly romantic ring from the turn of the twentieth century. Crafted in 14-karat yellow gold and accented with rose gold details, this delicate jewel embodies the sentimentality and symbolism that characterized the finest American jewelry of the Late Victorian and Early Edwardian periods. At the center rests a marquise-cut natural amethyst, its soft violet hue beautifully framed by two hand-engraved hearts executed in contrasting rose and yellow gold. The heart motif was among the most beloved symbols in nineteenth-century jewelry, representing affection, devotion, and enduring love. Rings of this type are often referred to by collectors as “Sweetheart Rings” — intimate tokens exchanged between loved ones and treasured as personal keepsakes. Several features suggest an American origin. The use of 14-karat gold as the primary alloy, the absence of formal assay hallmarks, the distinctive two-color gold construction, and the overall light yet elegant mounting are all characteristics frequently encountered in American jewelry produced between approximately 1890 and 1910. During this period, American jewelers became particularly fond of combining yellow and rose gold to create subtle color contrasts and decorative symbolism. The ring displays an attractive openwork gallery beneath the gemstone and finely executed engraved details that remain remarkably crisp for a jewel more than a century old. The contrast between the warm yellow gold and the rose gold hearts creates a design that feels both refined and deeply personal. More than simply a piece of jewelry, this ring serves as a small reminder of an era when jewels often carried messages of affection, memory, and sentiment. Its romantic symbolism, antique craftsmanship, and unusual two-color gold design make it a delightful addition to any collection of Victorian or Edwardian jewelry. Circa: 1890–1910 Origin: Likely United States Materials: 14 Karat Yellow Gold and Rose Gold Gemstone: Natural Amethyst Ring Size: US 10 Weight: 2.85 grams A charming survivor from the golden age of romantic jewelry.

Rare Natural Bolivian Ametrine Necklace – Large Carved Ametrine Beads, Collector Statement Jewelry This exceptional natural Ametrine necklace showcases one of the most fascinating gemstones found in nature — a rare bi-colored quartz combining Amethyst and Citrine within the same crystal. Known in the gem trade as Bolivian Ametrine or Bolivianite, this remarkable gemstone displays a natural harmony of violet and golden hues that occur only under very specific geological conditions. Virtually all natural Ametrine comes from a single location in the world — the legendary Anahí Mine in the Santa Cruz region of Bolivia. Because of this extremely limited source, fine-quality Bolivian Ametrine is highly prized by gemstone collectors and jewelry designers. This impressive necklace measures 19 inches (48 cm) in length and features beautifully carved and faceted twist beads...
