The silver blades and forks bear crisp hallmarks including the maker’s initials J.G., the anchor (for Birmingham), lion passant (sterling silver), and the date letter ‘R’ for 1866.

The crystal is made by prominent Birmingham glass maker John Walsh Walsh manufacturing company which operated in Birmingham from 1850 for a hundred years.
