After a wartime departure from Orrefors, he became the creative head at Uppsala-Ekeby and later served as artistic director at Kosta Glasbruk for over two decades.

He briefly became the lead designer in ceramics at Uppsala Ekeby before continuing his career in the art glass industry at Kosta in the 1950's.

He left Orrefors in 1943 and until 1950 worked as an artistic director for Uppsala Ekeby where he realized different stoneware items as pots or figural sculptures.

It was designed by Svante Kaede and manufactured by Ekeby in Uppsala Sweden during the 1930s. It is commonly referred to as the Balloon or Kulvas vase.
