About the Item

THOR is a monumental ceramic planter conceived as both functional vessel and sculptural object. Defined by its powerful cross-shaped silhouette, the piece carries a strong architectural presence that recalls the language of Brutalist structures—mass, balance, and radical simplicity. Handcrafted in chamotte stoneware, the form is built around a central cylindrical container from which two horizontal volumes extend, creating a bold cruciform geometry. The proportions are deliberate and grounded, giving the object a sense of stability and monumentality despite its functional nature. The milk-white finish softens the rigor of the form while revealing the rich mineral texture of the chamotted clay. Subtle variations in the surface testify to the handmade process and emphasize the tactile quality of the material. Designed as a planter or sculptural vessel, THOR creates a striking dialogue with architectural plants such as cacti or succulents, whose vertical growth contrasts with the horizontal force of the ceramic structure. Both collectible design and functional sculpture, the piece inhabits the space with quiet authority.
